Why Brahma And Vishnu Worship Lord Shiva

Posted on May 14, 2020August 8, 2022 by suils
According to Vedic Puranas, Lord Shiva and Adishakti are the supreme personalities. Adishakti created the whole universe. But the question arises that who created Vishnu and Brahma. Some Puranas state that when Lord Shiva rubbed some nector on his ankle, then Vishnu was created. Then from Vishnu’s navel, a stem of lotus flower appeared. From that stem, Brahma was born. So, it is said that Brahma was born from Lord Vishnu’s navel.

One day, Lord Shiva gave tasks to Brahma and Vishnu to find the beginning and end of Jyotirstambha. Whosoever will find it will be the ultimate. Shiva disguised himself in the form of Jyotirstambha and asked both of them to reach the start and end of it. Vishnu traveled downward to reach its end while Brahma traveled upward to reach the beginning, but both of them failed to do it and realized that there is no end to Shiva.
Then Vishnu asked Shiva to guide him. But Brahma lies that he has found the beginning. By knowing this, Lord Shiva banned Brahma’s worship in Hinduism which is true. Brahma’s son Daksh Prajapati was against Shiva because of this reason only.

But, Lord Shiva made him a member of the trinity which defines Brahma as the creator, Vishnu as Palanhar, and Shiva as a destroyer. All three of them are called TRIDEVAS. That is the reason Vishnu and Brahma worship Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu are interconnected with each other.

There’s a short story behind it. Lord Vishnu (Narayan) was a devotee of Lord Shiva. One day, Lord Shiva started doing worship of Shiva for a boon. He was so dedicated that Lord Shiva became very happy and appeared before him. Then Lord Vishnu asked for a weapon whose attack should never fail. Then, Shiva gifted him Sudarshan Chakra whose attack never failed. But in the overall story, Brahma and Vishnu worship Lord Shiva.
